the objectives may be somewhat different. enthusiasts with a love of music may or may not be more apt to pick up a guitar after experiencing rock band, but games like ‘call of duty’ are more complex for a whole host of psychological reasons.
@robertoremelli … @robertoremelli It’s a gorgeous piece of work. Supposedly they are making a new “Yellow Submarine” movie. I hope these people are doing it.
@tomsega I see what … @tomsega I see what your saying and I’ve heard of other musicians who had a problem with GH for the same reasons. I know a few people at my school who play guitar and the people who play GH treat it simply as a game and nothing else.
@N64isgreat – … @N64isgreat – Partly true, but your analogy between real war (!!) and CoD, as well as your one between Nintendogs and owning a real dog… well, guitar hero is much more comparable to the real thing than either of those cases. Again, it’s the image of a kid asking for guitar hero rather than guitar when his parents have a $100 dollar Christmas budget that bothers me. 80% of those who play proper guitar reasonably well will find guitar hero an irritating and clunky experience.

Guitar … @tomsega
Guitar hero isn’t supposed to be compared with playing a real guitar! It has no effect on whether or not someone will decide to learn to play it.
It is just a game! Thats like saying playing CoD stops people from wanting to join the army because they apparently have a perfect alternative in the game!
@N64isgreat: Think … @N64isgreat: Think about the 12 year old kid asking for Guitar Hero for Christmas rather than having his parents buy him a guitar. Of course it is “possible” that a kid might own and enjoy both. However, speaking as someone who’s played guitar for the best part of ten years, Guitar Hero to me seems clunky and tedious in comparison with holding a real guitar; I could only imagine actively preferring to play guitar Hero if I were musically untalented and uncreative!!
