What is the best documentary about the Beatles?

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

The only documentaries that I’ve heard of are The Compleat Beatles and The Beatles Anthology. Which one of those is better? Is there any others that are better than those?

Those are the two best ones out there. If you were to own one, it definitely should be the Anthology, in my opinion. It’s very well done and there’s just so much more footage (rare clips, live performances, interviews, etc.), plus it’s narrated by the Beatles themselves. Don’t expect it to be especially revealing on the Beatles’ personal lives, but it does give lots of in depth information on the band’s history (especially the early years), and it really is the definitive Beatles documentary.

… However, the Compleat Beatles has some unique footage and interesting information that is not in the Anthology, and it’s very well-narrated and artistically done (if a bit dated). If you don’t want to sit through the entire 8-part anthology, I would recommend this one; it’s wonderfully complete and compact as it is. Unfortunately it’s only on VHS, though.

The Anthology is the best choice.

Do you think it’s a good idea to get a Christian girl The Whiite Album by The Beatles?
Do you think it’s a good idea to get a Christian girl The Whiite Album by The Beatles?
I got her all the other albums but I’m not sure if I should get her this one because of the songs:
why don’t we do it in the road
yer blues
helter skelter
and especially Revolution 9 she will probably think it’s satanic

but then it has so many great songs especially ‘ I Will’
do you think I should get it or not?
Christians would you be bothered by it?

Sure i don’t see any reason why not but i’d avoid some John Lennon solo stuff like Plastic Ono Band which could be offensive listen to songs like "God" "I Found Out" "Working Class Hero" and you’ll see what i mean.

What band has a lot of truly good catchy songs?

Friday, October 8th, 2010

I’m just looking for a new band to listen to. My favorites are Green Day, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Aerosmith because I like a ton of songs from each of them. I’ve listened to a lot of other bands too but ended up not liking them because they only have a few good songs. Does anyone know of any other bands that actually have a ton of great songs?? Thanks.

i like every song by Iron Maiden. I mean every single f_cking song, no kidding. All 140 + of them.

Another awesome band would be the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. A good album to begin with is "Jailbreak". Their best and most famous songs are there.

How much is a vintage blue and white polka dot Beatles dress worth?

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

I am curious to know if anyone knows how much a vintage blue and white polka dot Beatles dress is worth. The dress was made by a Dutch company back in the 60′s.

That must be really expensive by now. It is great to revive this fashion style.

I want to know what your favorite song that the beatles wrote is

Norweigan Wood

what is the song do better by say anything about?

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

the only part of the song im having trouble with is

drink alone and watch tv, you’re expecting harmonies
to tap your tune with silver spoons, anthem of impending doom
guiding satan’s steady hand, forcing beatles to disband
it’s ego freaks and drama queens, the young at heart know what i mean

its my favorite verse in the whole song but i still cant figure it out. any ideas as to what it might mean?

according to max himself:

"This is a song I wrote later on in the writing process. It’s about the recognition that we live in a flawed society. I wrote the lyrics first. They were a criticism about myself and, like, this really negative song. What I realized when I finally finished the lyrics is that I had overcome a lot of the things that I was making fun of about myself, and that to write a song about those things would be a novelty or sort of typical Say Anything act–to make a negative, self-deprecating song. So my goal was to write a positive, uplifting song, but still have it be very "Say Anything." It’s about the ability every human being has to fulfill his or her potential. It doesn’t mean we can all be godlike, but we can do better than how we tend to do. Once you realize that, you have a lot more options open to you as a human being."

BUY BUY BUY…Best Buy or Sell EVER!

Seriously though…A lot of people think hes overrated but majority of people don’t even pay attention to him aside from his greatest hits stuff. All they know is Jammin and Three Little Birds. That makes him underrated in my opinion.

Nirvana vs. The Beatles?

Friday, September 17th, 2010

take your pick. and explain why!

On a personal level, Nirvana.

But overall it has to be the Beatles, they changed the face of music and are arguably THE most influential band ever, even if Nirvana weren’t directly influenced by them the bands who influenced Nirvana were. For example Cobain was a big Dinosaur JR fan, and there frontman has cited Beatles as massive influences.

Nirvana are a brilliant band, but the Beatles are just that much better. You have good bands, then the brilliant bands (Nirvanas’ level and then a small few who are beyond them, the Beatles being among them.
