What does that Beatles song mean?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under beatles songs | No Comments »

Have you ever wondered what your favourite Beatles song meant? In this video, I cover the meaning behind a few Beatles songs, all of them exceptionally creative and great at disguising their true meaning.
Songs played:
Eleanor Rigby
Norwegian Wood (This Bird has Flown)
Glass Onion

FACT: Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) was the first pop music song to ever feature a sitar.
Let It Be was actually based on a dream Paul had when his deceassed mother Mary came to him.
Rocky Racoon, decoded, is about John’s ‘Bigger Than Jesus’ fiasco.
Eleanor Rigby was first called Miss Daisy Hawkins
Yesterday was originally ‘Scrambled Eggs’ (”Scrambled eggs, oh my baby, how I love your legs”)
A lot of Beatles songs, (McCartney compositions) especially on Rubber Soul, are about Paul’s relationship with Jane at the time (i.e. I’m Looking Through You, You Won’t See Me, on Revolver- Here, There and Everywhere, For No One)
Help! was about John’s insecurities.
A Hard Day’s Night is the first Beatles album to feature only Beatles comositions.
Ironically, Eleanor Rigby’s gravestone is near Strawberry Field children’s home by Menlove Avenue- John’s childhood street.

My top 20 Favorite Beatles Songs (Part 1)

Posted by admin on March 28th, 2010 and filed under beatles songs | 1 Comment »

I made a top 20 before, but it said it was too long and it wouldn’t upload, so I just kind of made it into 2 parts and I changed the songs up a bit.
Hopefully the second part will upload properly because it is just 2 seconds over the amount of time a video can be on here. But if not then you’ll be lead a cliff hanger until i shorten it, which I don’t want to leave you guys hanging. But if thats the case then i can’t really do anything.

Enjoy!

The Best Beatles or Rolling Stones songs of all time?

Posted by admin on March 13th, 2010 and filed under beatles songs | 11 Comments »

I’m bored so here we go. Totally all opinion. What do you guys think is the best Beatles song and what do you think is the best Rolling Stones song?

Beatles: I’m gonna have to go w/ In My Life.
Stones: Either sympathy for the Devil or Satisfaction.

Why not a Rolling Stones song that featured John Lennon and Paul McCartney on backing vocals?
"We Love You" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HKtPjcw7Sg&feature=related
The video is kind of sad. An obviously drugged out Brian Jones before he died.

See John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Eric Clapton sing "Yer Blues". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlwFeNMRPHc

Right now, the Rolling Stones are short a bass player. Paul McCartney is available…
Oh well, we can dream, can’t we?
