If Michael Jackson died who legally owns all of The Beatles albums/songs?

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Because Michael Jackson died and he owned all of The Beatels songs who own them now? For things such as copyright laws.

His son?

Great question. Unfortunately they will go to a family member or whoever he left them to. I wish there was a clause that if he had died that the rights would be returned to the original owners. I think it was a slap in the face for the Beatles to have lost the greatest music of all time to a freak like Michael Jackson.

Question about the 10 Beatles albums on Rollingstone’s 500 Greatest Albums list?

Friday, January 1st, 2010

Are they counting the US versions or UK versions of the albums because some albums differ a lot by which version they are. Or are they counting both versions?

They only count the UK Versions. The original 500 list was issued in print a few years back. I have the original double issue Rolling Stone magazine from 2003…

(Note: The US Capitol Records versions were not compiled by The Beatles themselves and they disregard them as true albums.)

Are the remastered Beatles albums worth getting?

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

I would convert them to mp3 files straight away to listen on my iPod, so would the benefit of the remastering process be cancelled out by the compression to mp3 format?

Generally the remastered albums are better. I have Rubber Soul, and Revolver remastered, but older CDs of other albums. The worst mix I have is the Yellow Submarine Songtrack album, which sounds artificial.
However, I have the older mono Bealtes For Sale CD and it has a warmth to it. But vinyl is better.

My only criticism is that the mono box set can be hard to get.

I want to go through most if not all of the Beatles’ albums, Definitely covering the important ones.?

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

I want to go through most if not all of the Beatles’ albums, Definitely covering all the important ones. Now I know most of of their hits and everything. Question is, where do I begin? And in what order should I go through the Beatles’ catalog?

Thanks and appreciate the help.

Also, if somebody can do the same thing with Pearl Jam while you are at it, even better. I know, slightly different type of music.
Had beatles 1, 62-66 and 67-70

alright well, seeing as you already know most of the hits Beatles 1s is pretty well covered, but still deserves to get looked at if you dont already have it. There isent really a way to go wrong with buying beatles albums but you should probably start with the really monumental ones, Abbey road would be a good place to start seeing as its one of the best albums ever recorded.

Other then that, you can do some of their earlier stuff like hard days night or revolver which are both great.

as for pearl jam, i dont really know them that well, i have the album "ten" its pretty good, aside from that i dont really know

Where can I buy those remastered Beatles albums and how much should I expect to pay?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I know they sell them at Starbuck, but where else…and how much should i be paying. I believe sbux sold them for like 15 dollas.

You can buy the The Beatles Stereo Box Set (they are remastered all) at amazon.
You actually get 13 Studio remasters plus Past Masters (digi packaging with digital mini documentaries) + DVD of all 13 mini-documentaries (Running time: 40 minutes, the mini-documentaries are also great) for only 180$. If you ask me it’s really worth it for such a low price.
You can get them the boxset here:

How much can I expect to pay for seven Beatles albums in good to very good condition?

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Dep[ends on which albums, what label variation, which pressing, etc. A ballpark figure for G to VG condition would be around $10-15 each. If one of them turns out to be very collectable and/or rare, who knows? Top price for a mint, top-value collectable might be worth upwards of several thousand bucks. But odds are, you’ve got typical flea market stuff.

difference between british and american beatles albums?

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

I noticed that british albums are more expensive so is there any difference in the quality of music?

There’s no difference in quality, really. The only difference that I know of is that some of the albums have a different play list, for example the British version of Rubber Soul doesn’t have "Drive My Car" and a few others that the American version does. The same goes with a few other albums that I can’t think of off the top of my head. The reason they’re more expensive is probably because they’re harder to find, and some of them are collector’s items as well. Most of the LPs I own are the British versions, and they weren’t easy to get ahold of let me tell you.

Who Is Buying the Beatles Remasters Albums?

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I inherited almost the complete Albums Cataloge and now I have all their CDs. While I’m a huge huge fan of the Beatles, I’m not running over to the store to rebuy my collection at about 18 bucks a shot only because the sound may be a little better. Knowing me, I probably won’t even be able to hear the difference.

So my question is to all you people out there who already own the albums. Are you guys upgrading to the newest version of CDs? You think its worth it?

I bought with the beatles and yellow submarine. I plan on getting more. It Sounds clearer. But unless you use ear buds. You can’t tell a difference. Also it’s louder. You can hear the bass and drums better too.
