So i went on the iTunes store the other day and there are no songs sung by the beatles! Why is this? Or am i just not looking hard enough?
Copyright issues. In 1968, The Beatles formed a company called Apple Corps. It ended up being a financial disaster (except Apple Records, which is still around today). But when Apple Computers came around, they wrote up an agreement with Apple Records that would let them use their trademark, in exchange for $80,000. Also, as a condition, Apple Computers could never enter the music buisness, nor Apple Records enter the computer buisness.
But when iTunes came out, Apple Records sued, saying that they broke the conditions of their contract. Unfortunately for them, the judge sided with Apple Computers. Relations between the two companies broke down, and to make a long story short, The Beatles will not allow their music to go on iTunes.
I reccomend going to Wal-Mart or something and buying the physical CDs, then ripping them into your computer.

They’re coming Apple/iTunes had to work out copyright and money matters with the Beatles and Apple records. It mostly boiled down to money

most likely because apple wasn’t able to get perrmission or the copyright for these songs, since they were very famous and had songs worth tons of money, apple hasn’t quite sealed the deal with them, but i heard somewhere that they are working on doing this
hope i helped!

The Beatles never needed to sell songs on I-Tunes because their individual CDs always sold in high quantities and have been heavily popular.

Their songs have not yet been released for digital downloads. I’m sure it will eventually happen but who knows when… For now the best way to get The Beatles songs onto your iPod (or other mp3 player) is to buy The Beatles Stereo Box Set and just capture the songs into your computer as mp3s.
