I think the picture on the cover of Please Please Me is the best Beatles picture because the picture seems to say "Hope you’re ready folks cause the 60s is coming". The calm before the storm – if you like – that was about to sweep Britain and the USA.
Also it was taken by Angus McBean, who is like me, from Glasgow
There can not be a "best beatle" because they were all great!
In my lifetime i reckon i have heard mostly that John was the best Beatle. I used to say that too because it was "cool" to say it.
Lately i have been revisiting the beatles music and have to give Paul credit for his contribution and finally, after donkeys years of being a fan, say that there is no doubt that Paul McCartney was John Lennon’s equal and possible even better. Paul McCartney’s songs
As i get older and the world becomes less certain and i need things i can rely upon in troubled times. All i need to do is fire up my PC and listen to one of their albums and i feel good again. So there, i hope you young guys say i "get it"

I like the first picture. Lol. It's funny in a way. And my favorite Beatles member is John Lennon, simply because he favored peace during the Vietnam War and he tried to spread peace through his music such as "Give Peace A Chance", "Imagine", and "Working Class Hero". Hope that helps. : ]
