I know! I hate that.
In a photo of our robotics team, this girl is showing the peace sign (you know, the fingers). And we were having a discussion about it on facebook, and she was saying how the peace sign makes the picture better. She hardly even knows what peace means. I have a shirt with a peace sign on it, but I actually follow what John Lennon said.

Yes! i know exactly what you mean! ugh god is so nice to hear someone else say it besides the little voice in my head. the Jonas brothers suck and can't compare to the beatles. I don't really think that anyone has made the john lennon impact ever since john died himself. I wear peace signs because i believe in uttermost peace. People should never think otherwise.

Keffiyeh’s are fashion symbols as well. I was talking to a classmate a few days back and asked him why he wears the keffiyeh. He said, "cuz Kanye wears it."

I loved that honesty. I was a bit concerned by it, yet I loved it.

Edit: Keffiyeh = checkered scarf, square with frayed ends. Often worn in a triangle around one’s neck. A symbol of Palestinian nationalism.

i think it is because of the vintage fad. People pick up symbols and signs and they have no idea what it means. I wonder if someday the sign for the Nazi regime will ever be used as a fashion statement. I agree with you 100%

You would be surprised how many people are blind conformists/ wear and do things they do not know about or what they mean. Its a part of society ignorance. This isnt the first symbol nor the last to be like this.
