I’m not sure why we want to limit this question to what Christians did to Beatles memorabilia when most of us walked away from or threw away all kinds of stuff that, in some cases, now has monetary value. In moving round over the years, I lost track of lots of things…record collections, baseball cards, comic books and on and on, but, considering how much I moved around and everything else that was going on, there was no way I could hang on to all those things. By me, it’s all water under the bridge, things that I really didn’t need for my life’s journey.

By their silly action they made The Beatles more popular than ever (or jesus?)!….the very scenario they wanted to prevent.

Too bad. I went on iTunes and downloaded the song Imagine and the video too. My mom loves that song Imagine. Me too. Americans should go to the Middle East and chant and sing the song "Give Peace a Chance".

My hero-John Lennon! I wish I had ALL the memorabilia from that era, not just Beatles stuff. It might be worth a lot of money, but I’d never sell it. You see; I grew up listening to the Beatles and Bob Dylan and all the Anti-War music. I was a part of the hippie culture which was still very much alive in the early and mid-70′s. I wore bell bottom jeans, stood for peace, women’s rights, civil rights, and I still do.

Heroes are just ordinary people who take a stand for something they believe is right and/or just; and never, ever back down!~!

First off, there wasn’t "Many" by any means. It was a small group. If they REALLY believed that it was the proper thing to do, the loss of money wouldn’t enter into it though. For instance, they think its a sin to rob a bank… that doesn’t mean that they would feel differently about not doing it 50 years later just because they would be rich had they robbed the bank.

It’s the classic quandary of fads and collection mania. Read up on tulip bulb in Amsterdam in the 1600s, people were paying tens of thousands of guilders for a single bulb of the most sought after varieties. Or think of how worthless beanie babies are right now.

If the christians hadn’t burned the records, etc., the one that are left probably wouldn’t be worth nearly as much.
