in the book the beatles illustrated lyrics by alan aldridge?

the book is dedicated to cabbage head who did n’t see it and to rita miles and saffron who did. could you explain who is who please? thanks stephen potts
Is the cabbage head meant to be John Lennon and if so why?

Rita, Miles and Saffron are the wife and children of illustrator Alan Aldridge, according to the acknowledgements in the back of the book I have. I don’t believe he is referring to Lennon though. The book was originally published in 1969, so Lennon probably did see it.
