Paul McCartney cries after John Lennon’s death

Paul listens to the song “Beautiful Boy” and tries to hold back the tears.

Notice the tribute in the song to Paul (”every day, in every way, is getting better and better”). It’s from The Beatles’ song “Getting Better” – John’s contribution to that song at the time was cynical and witty (his lyric was “it can’t get no worse”) but here he was sending a little message to Paul that Paul was right, life does just get keep getting better and better.

I see some people are arguing about McCartney’s solo career. Here are just a few of my favorite of his solo songs: Maybe I’m Amazed, Another Day, Oh Woman Oh Why, My Love, Little Lamb Dragonfly, Band on the Run, Jet, You Gave Me The Answer, She’s My Baby, Sally G, London Town, Mull of Kintyre, After the Ball/Million Miles, Goodnight Tonight, Daytime Nighttime Suffering, Tug of War, Here Today, Ballroom Dancing, Wanderlust, My Brave Face, This One, Young Boy, Calico Skies, Flaming Pie, Little WIllow, Beautiful Night, Magic, Heather, Fine Line, Jenny Wren, English Tea, A Certain Softness, Dance Tonight, End of the End, Feet in the Clouds, Sing the Changes, Highway, Light From Your Lighthouse, Sun is Shining… I’m forgetting a bunch…. The Other Me, Flying To My Home, Distractions…and the list goes on…

Had to disable comments because there are always a few dummies who ruin it for everyone else. Personally I’m trying not to look at comments anymore in most YouTube videos, but I was holding out optimism for this video since it seemed to be overwhelmingly positive for a long time.

Cuba, honestly.. Why are you even watching this if you’re just gunna all over it. That song was written about paul yes, and that was because they were arguing. John said it himself that he realized he was attacking himself. They made up in the early 70’s. Did you ever have an argument with your friend before? And I don’t give a about the history of Mexicans, and i sure as don’t give a about your fat floppy either.

Two of the greatest songwriters in history its hard to even aspire reaching a tenth of that level. If you have time, click on my name to check my channel and original songs, especially the songs called Soul of a Woman and In the Neighborhood (this one is slow so give it a full listen before judging), thx!!!

    Capn – John hated …
Capn – John hated Paul so much that he recorded a scathing attack on Paul’s shallow personality with “How Do You Sleep”. In it, there are several references to Paul’s musical shallowness, including “the only thing you ever did was “Yesterday”. Not exactly the words of a “best friend”. “Grease-ball”, by the way, is a pejorative reference to Mexicans, who were largely employed processing cattle-hide on shipping docks in the 1940’s, getting tallow all over their hands and body. I am Cuban, Opie.

First time I heard a commie talking bad about a Beatle. I am Venezuelan and I have some friends which are Chavistas (communist) and not even them would say something so awfull. Stop with your bull crap and buy another t-shirt with El Che stamped on it, so you would feel more socially concern.

    I have to admit …
I have to admit that it takes remarkable strength to hold back tears and sadness. What he did shows tremendous self-restraint, and at the very least, he should be respected for it. I must admit, however, that he had every right to cry at a moment like the one that he had to go through.

    And without various …
And without various influences in Beethovens life there would be no him. I think the fact that The Beatles music unifies and brings people together all over the world (and there are alot of classical music snobs out there who mean its hard to be accepted into that niche). If this many people come to comment upon a band and love them then that makes them far more relevant. We are a indebted to influence but we are not owned by it, Beethoven did little or nothing for the person in the street.

    - crossing his arms …
    – crossing his arms and hunched (head lowered, shoulders raised).

i imagine he is realizing how everyone dies someday, which would make him feel very alone, as anyone you ever have in your life is not completely permanent in the physical world. whether or not you cry like youre watching the notebook, i still think its the single most powerful realization in the universe, something paul has experienced thru his life and put into music, but then it hits him again harder than ever.. thru john…

  19. ThexNerd Says:

    no hes not …
no hes not crying but your a douche just leave him alone and get off his back faggot… did you ever say one good thing about paul in your life?

  20. Marooth Says:

    wow, Paul is so …
    wow, Paul is so restless..

  21. CubanCheGuevara Says:

    LOL Paul ISN’T …
LOL Paul ISN’T crying here. Nice try though! The only time Paul ever cried was when he lost $50 million to that one-legged succubus he divorced. What you’re seeing here is Paul playing to the camera. He’s feigning an attitude because he knows you idiots EXPECT him to be all teary-eyed. This guy never met a camera or a microphone he didn’t like. Grow up!

Yeah, he does all of the above…he DOES get teary eyed for a split second

  25. VelvetPunk4life Says:

    Interesting …
Interesting perspective. John might not be as outspoken, though he was more increasingly generous towards the other Beatles closer to his death. And yes, it wouldn’t be too surprising if John retreated to the studio if Paul died instead of him, like Paul did when John died.
