Because as any scan of the radio dial will tell you, today's music is crap, but it sells. So radio and record labels sell crap rather than offer quality.

My local classic rock station plays ‘em alot, around here you can hear Yellow Submarine almost everyday. Maybe it depends on where you live. Different radio djs have different tastes and they live in different parts of the country.

It just depends on the radio station. Some radio stations are really sucky that way, in that they never play the good bands and focus on crap music. Internet radio isn't to bad, stuff like last.fm is really good.

more people dont like the beatles today than those that do. i only enjoy one beatles song, and otherwise they are way too poppy for me.

Look at it this way: Somewhere on the planet….right now….some radio station is airing a Beatles song–and it happens every 22 seconds!! The Beatles aren’t going anywhere from Rock n’ Roll history—or are they leaving the hearts of fans anytime soon, either.

i have often wondered that same thing myself, and i can safely say it bothers me as much as it appears to bother you. the beatles were, in fact, one of the most influential bands, and as such, they should be given that credit. they should be played more and i think they need to be more appreciated throughout the nation.
