I am really getting into The Beatles lately, and I am doing my research on what the best investment of my time and money would be for albums to buy would be.
First of all, I already have four Beatles albums on CD that I got from my dad: A Hard Day’s Night, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Revolver, and Abbey Road.
I am interested in getting much more music, and it seems that the best way to do that would be to buy anthology-type albums, that have the ‘best’ songs all together.
I was looking at sets, and I was wondering if anyone has opinions on if they are good or not.
Here are ones that I have been considering:
The Beatles Anthology: http://beatles.fanfire.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/fanfire.woa/wa/product?sourceCode=BEAWEB&sku=BEA38034
Anthology CD part 1: http://beatles.fanfire.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/fanfire.woa/wa/product?sourceCode=BEAWEB&sku=BEA38010
Anthology CD part 2: http://beatles.fanfire.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/fanfire.woa/wa/product?sourceCode=BEAWEB&sku=BEA38017
Anthology CD part 3: http://beatles.fanfire.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/fanfire.woa/wa/product?sourceCode=BEAWEB&sku=BEA38018

Does anyone own any of these, because I want to know if they are really any good.
Do you recommend getting actual albums and completing my collection that way, such as Let It Be, and The White Album, or getting anthologies?
Also, I heard talk that some albums or anthologies will be redone and the sound quality will be made better some time in 2009. Does anyone know anything about that? Would it be better to wait and spend my money on even better quality, or get CD’s now?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
i own 1, anthology part 2, and LOVE.
1 is a good cd, it has most of the classics and you cant go wrong getting that
anthology part 2 is good as well, it has some "original" recordings where they talk in it and stuff and i think it would be nice to own all of the anthologies eventually. its also good because if you can get it for cheap its a two disk and comes with a total of 45 songs
LOVE is good if you already know the beatles music because it’s basically a revamped version where some of the songs are mixed together. like a modern phycadellic kind of thing that they used for cirque de soeli (sp??) so id recommned that for sure but probably after you buy and know some of the songs from the other two
Investment? Save your money! The only thing worth any money from the Beatles are autographs. No offense to any one!

LOVE while fine is not pure Beatles
There are two great posthumous releases 1962-1966 and 1967-1970. Great albums for a good start. As far as the collection you already have add "Rubber Soul" and "Yesterday and Today"
