They almost didn’t …
They almost didn’t release this album, you know.
Your statement is wrong on so many levels.
Great version, and …
Great version, and far superior to the Spector produced album version.
The line in this version “anyway you’ve ALWAYS known, the many ways of tried” I prefer, adds more emotion and struggle to the song
It doesn’t get any …
It doesn’t get any better than this!! TIMELESS
You better watch …
You better watch the Anthology. That period of “hibernation” they were led to compose in the studio, and was them most creative period.
sheer songwriting …
sheer songwriting talent……beauty !
The Beatles never …
The Beatles never went into hybernation and came back. The Beatles went virtually non stop, only taking a few months here and there. They produced 13 albums in less than a decade…. I don’t know where you got your information, but it’s wrong.
Very nice. Thanks. …
Very nice. Thanks. Reads great. Muito bonito. Obrigado. Le-se bem.
The Beatles were so …
The Beatles were so good in the begining and went into like hibernation for a good 10 years. Then at the very end, they came back and quit? Why? Some one answer me.

(A longa e sinuosa estrada)
A longa e sinuosa estrada
que leva até sua porta,
Jamais desaparecerá,
Eu já vi esta estrada antes.
Ela sempre me traz até aqui,
Conduz-me até sua porta.
Na noite selvagem e tempestuosa
que a chuva eliminou,
Deixou uma piscina de lágrimas
Chorando pelo dia.
Por que me deixar aqui sozinho?
Mostre-me o caminho.

Yes yogan6500,
You are correct.
Phil Spector ruined this work of art and was the main cause of McCartney ending
The Beatles.
Yoko had nothing to do with ending The Beatles. It was Phil Spector
changing this very song into a big Orchestral production. This made McCartney angry and was noted as one of the six reasons for him ending
The Beatles.

They were still the …
They were still the best of friends. But what people fail to realize is they were together in a cocoon for 10 years. They had conquered the world. As a group they had nothing left to prove and no incentive to prove it anymore. John and Paul both fell in love, George wanted to his type of music etc… It was personal growth. In order to move on they had to call it quits. BTW: better to go out on top then to hang on like the Rolling Stones.

Gotta love the part …
Gotta love the part with Billy Preston.
And I agree with ReNeGaTe’s comment that “this video perfectly represent the spirit of the Beatles at this time.” Everyone is just involved with themselves and there is tension and uneasiness between all. What we see here is not a band but four separate artists (six if you count Billy and Yoko) doing their own thing. Still, they all made glorious music, even in the bitter (and I mean bitter) end. Truly sad :’-(
I love this version …
I love this version of The Long & Winding Road. sounds much more better than the one that we grew-up listing to sinc 1970 whenit was brutally massacred by Phil Spector by includes syrupy strings and awful choral background. No wonder why Paul McCartney quit The Beatles because someone has the gall to ruin such a sweet song like this. Thanks to somebody at Apple for giving us the clean cut version of the song on The Beatles Anthology CD. Once again Thanks for finding it.
I think that this …
I think that this video perfectly represent the spirit of the Beatles at this time. They do not look at each other, Ringo look like he’s completely high, Paul is the only one looking at the camera, John is sitting on the ground with Yoko at his side and no one seems to really care about each other. Sad but true…
i have audio cd of …
