I first saw 6:46-7:25 when it first aired, and i was like “wtf is going on with the tv station???”
To make money. …
To make money. They were worth a great deal and they bring in a great deal in royalties every time someone buys copies of that music. It was actually a very smart move on his part.
Not to mention the …
Not to mention the consumers, who have to go on their knees to the almighty Sony now in order to buy that music.
Ringo’s drumming …
Ringo’s drumming was actually pretty ahead of its time, too.
Michael did buy the …
Michael did buy the songs fair and square, and there’s nothing wrong with him doing that, but I do think he should’ve done the right thing and willed them to Paul instead of letting Sony get their grubby paws on them. Now, Sony has them and can pretty much do whatever they like with them, even let them be used for shoddy TV ads or dictate to the consumers how we can listen to them. And there’s no way in that I can see that they would ever sell those songs to Paul for a reasonable price.
What I’ve heard is …
What I’ve heard is that he said, at that time, that the cost was too pricey and that he wasn’t going to bid. But later, he changed his mind and tried to persuade Yoko Ono to go in with him on it, but she wouldn’t do it. So he ended up pulling out, too, and Michael bought the songs.

como se llama la cancion del final??
From what I …
From what I understand, and I cant confirm this…there was an ‘understanding’ to get Paul his music back….He had the cash, but Jackson reneged…Paul had a hard time ‘buying’ his songs that he wrote for nothing…
Of course, but I …
Of course, but I wasn’t referring to their musical or song writing ability – just them as people. And I agree, George’s stuff was great too.
It’s possible that …
It’s possible that when they’re talking about him being rich,…they might be talking about assets,..& not necessarily liquid assets,..like a bunch of cash in the bank,…but rather,..houses,..& companies,…etc. He probably would have had to give up a large percentage of his fortune just to get the rights.
I meant to type the …
I meant to type the word all.
True,
But one …
True,
But one thing I really can’t understand is when Michael bought al of The Beatles songs, Paul was called the richest man in music/show business,so why couldn’t he have out bid him?
You are so right …
You are so right too, except don’t get too made at me for saying so,but I have always really hated the sound of Led Zeppelin, and Queen and to a lesser extent Pink Floyd, these are the only famous bands that I hate.
You are *so* …
You are *so* right except they were far from “ordinary” especially John and Paul and even George!
Music created by …
Music created by The Beatles is still far ahead of its times. Nobody can even come close. Four ordinary lads who shaped the cultural ethos of a decade. I wasn’t even born when John Lennon was murdered but it’s the greatest tradegy of my life.
