This is the BBCs … This is the BBCs Sounds of the 60s Beatles A to Z song for week start 13JUN10 where the history of this song is given It can be heard for one week after Jun13 by going to the site It is 36 mins into the prog & includes an interview with John who says how they were influenced by Tamla Motown
my favorite version … my favorite version of this cover. John’s voice sounds so raw, but so clear, and ringo’s drumming is understated, but perfect. love this song
One time my brother … One time my brother and I were sitting around, playing our guitars to various Beatles songs when “You Really Got A Hold On Me” one came on. My brother stopped and said, “You know why these guys were so great?”
“Why?” I asked.
“Two great singers.”
He was right. John and Paul complemented each other so much sometimes you couldn’t tell if they were double tracked or harmonizing. Two great singers and four great musicians. Where’d artists like that go?
