46 years ago in about January, 1964, I was fourteen years old and had gotten a severe case of Beatlemania when I first heard them on the radio singing ‘I wanna hold your hand’. I bought a magazine which had a multi-page article about them inside and I cut out all the pictures of them and pasted them all over my room. My older brother came home on leave from the army and saw all the pics and he asked my mother, ‘who in the are the Beatles?’
theres a lot of … theres a lot of technical reasons, but it also has to do with marketing. George really doesn’t need a mike at this point except for harmonies. It also creates a cleaner image on stage. 3 mikes on stage would look cluttered for TV’s sake. and who doesn’t love pictures of john and paul sharing a mike? .. its iconic
