The Beatles I Am The Walrus (Remastered)

Friday, January 29th, 2010

“I Am the Walrus” is a 1967 song by The Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon/McCartney. Lennon claimed he wrote the first two lines on separate acid trips. The song was in The Beatles’ 1967 television film and album Magical Mystery Tour, and was the B-side to the #1 hit “Hello, Goodbye”.
Lennon composed the avant-garde song by combining three songs he had been working on. When he learned that a teacher at his old primary school was having his students analyze Beatles’ lyrics, he added a verse of nonsense words.
The walrus is a reference to the walrus in Lewis Carroll’s “The Walrus and the Carpenter” (from the book Through the Looking-Glass). Lennon expressed dismay upon learning that the walrus was a villain in the poem.

Harry Potter Lego Pals in “Wizard Swears”

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Well it’s the new year and I’ve made another Lego Pals video, this time its a remake of my favourite episode ‘Wizard Swears’. I had actually finished this sometime around April 2009 but I thought I should wait until the new year. Once again, the lego stuff is all mine but the audio and story are by Niel Cicierega. I didn’t make this in the same room of the house as I did with the first video, so try not to look too closely at the two Beatles posters in the background! Also I filmed this during certain parts of the day so the lighting changes (I used the lamp to light the ‘set’ up all the way through filming but sometimes the sunlight would make it look brighter).

Characters
- Harry Potter (from the New Hogwarts School set)
- Ron Weasly (from the New Hogwarts School set)
- Hermione Grainger (from the New Hogwarts School set)
- Snape (from the ‘One Eyed Witch’ set)
- Neville Longbottom (from the Defence Against the Dark Arts set)
- Lord Voldemort (from the Graveyard set)
- Lucius Malfoy as a Death Eater (from the Graveyard set)
- Dumbledore (from the New Hogwarts Castle)
- Hagrid (from the new Hagrids Hut set), Buckbeak (from the Buckbeak attacks Malfoy set) and Sirius Black (from the Sirius Black Escapes set) can be seen lurking in the background.

Backgrounds and props
TITLE SEQUENCE BACKGROUND
- Hogwarts shield from the Sorting Hat set
- I made the title cards, basing them on the ones that appear in Niel Cicierega’s Puppet Pals original.

- The gateways from the Old and New Hogwarts School sets are also visible in some shots
- Nevilles rememberall is from the Flying Lesson set

- The funny-looking plant in front of the Forbidden Forest tree is part of the Forbidden Forest set as well.

VOLDERMORTS BACKGROUND

R&P, your opinion on this…?

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

So, I’ve been looking for a David Bowie shirt for a really long time, but all of them are either mediums or when I find a small, it’s really expensive.
So I was talking to my friend about why she thinks his merchandise is all so expensive, and she said that it’s because he’s a legend and he’s retired now.
So I said what about The Beatles, they don’t play as a band anymore but their shirts are so cheap. She didn’t have an answer

So, R&P, why do you think David Bowie shirts are so expensive?

MQ: Favorite Bowie song?
MQ2: Favorite Bowie..?

supply and demand… the people willing to get a bowie shirt are willing to pay more. its cool to like the beatles (which doesnt quite give them the credit they deserve,) so if they sell shirts cheap everyone in the world will buy them. Bowie is less popular, the people who want one of his shirts will pay more for them.
this is my theory,

MQ: probably Suffragette City, the whole album Rise and Fall is great.
MQ2: Favorite Bowie… Persona! Ziggy Stardust. IMO Bowie was best between Hunky Dory and Station to Station, but Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, and Diamond Dogs really took the cake

Don’t you think that The Beatles song lyrics are just so rich and meanigful?

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

I mean apart from the beautiful music and stuff if you actually read the lyrics it’s like you’re reading amazing poetry. For example Yesterday. "I’m not half the man I used to be" "love was such an easy game to play". And even fast songs like Hard Day’s Night. "It’s been a hard day’s night and I’ve been working like a dog, it’s been a hard day’s night I should be sleeping like a log". Isn’t that how most people work? There’s just many more.

The majority of them, yeah. There’s a couple of songs that are really simple (ex., "All Together Now"), and don’t have any particular meaning. But for the most part, The Beatles really knew how to make deep, and visual lyrics.
One of my favorite songs is Across the Universe because the lyrics are so poetic and in a way magical, and the sitar/guitar combo used in it really compliments the lyrics.
