lots of Beatles lyrics are in code
John Lennon said the LSD was just coincidence with Lucy in the Sky. He then started looking at all the initials of all his other songs to see if there were any other songs with abbreviations. I heard this on the Lost Lennon Tapes by Lennon himself. I believe him, he sounded so sincere about it. He said that Julian brought him a picture he drew and it was called Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
What does the Beatles lyrics "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" really mean?
Questions about the Beatles?
Okay, two questions:
One)Are there any songs available in the UK that weren’t available in the US?
Two)Why isn’t the White Album shown on the US or UK discography?
Edit: Woah, It’s not called The White Album!? I feel like an idiot…
Oh another one, Why were so many songs on multiple albums. Even in just one country, the songs repeat.
Actually, in original release, Magical Mystery Tour was not released in the UK with all the songs as it was in the US. Check out their website for the full discography.
The official discography has the album listed as The Beatles [White Album]
The repeated songs are ones that were put into compilations. Some of these are different versions, such as demos or live. I do not believe that any of the studio albums repeat any songs from any other studio album.
can anyone name these albums by the Beatles and the Stones?
Which Beatles album are the Stones pictured on – and vice versa?
Hello there
No, It is Sgt. Pepper of the Beatles.
The Stones Their Satanic Majesties Request
That was a big deal back in the day. Lots of discussion about it.
Later,
Do people think the Beatles songs performed by Ringo Starr were criticised too much?
I have read in one book about the Beatles’ songs that Ringo’s songs were "doleful" and were "slotted in almost as light relief". I think the writer was being quite unfair, I wouldn’t have thought the songs Ringo sang would have simply been considered "light relief". Some of the songs he sang, such as "What Goes On" were quite good, weren’t they?
Id like to be
under the sea
In an Octopuses garden
In the shade!!!!……There was a child-like quality to his songs…I think he wrote this one
Ringo didn’t have the best of singing voices lets face it, and yes I think there was an element of "lets give Ringo a turn" some of the material wasn’t that good but then there are songs like The Yellow Submarine and in my humble opinion!! that is one of the most loved Beatle songs.
What are some Beatles or John Lennon songs about LSD or other drugs?
Although many later Beatles songs were influenced by drugs (marijuana mostly), there are two songs that were really about to drugs. "Day Tripper" was written about a girl who takes drugs by day, and "Got to Get You Into My Life" was Paul McCartney’s "ode" to marijuana.
Contrary to popular belief, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" came about when John Lennon’s son Julian came home with a picture he drew of a girl in his class named Lucy. When John asked him what the picture was of, Julian said, "Lucy in the sky with diamonds." Also, "Strawberry Fields Forever", another song often associated with drugs, was actually based on a Salvation Army building called "Strawberry Field" near John Lennon’s childhood home. "Hey Jude" was written by Paul McCartney for Julian Lennon when John Lennon left him and Cynthia Lennon. It was originally called "Hey Jules" (short for Julian) but was changed when Cynthia Lennon and Paul McCartney felt Jude sounded better. John Lennon mistakingly thought it was about him when he fell for Yoko Ono.
Song on "Beatles Anthology," what’s the name?
It’s after "In My Life" and it’s during the beatles talking about their infanthood. I believe some of the lyrics were, "Don’t know where, don’t know when" and "I know we’ll meet again some sunny day."
"We’ll Meet Again" is a 1939 song made famous by British singer Vera Lynn (#29 [US, 1954]) with music written by Ross Parker and words by Hughie Charles.

What are the similarities between the Beatles and the?
Jonas Brothers
Please avoid words/phrases such as ‘none’ ‘are you mad’ and you ‘you must be kidding’
The only similarity is that they both made music… the Jonas brothers shouldnt even be in the same sentence as the Beatles …. they havent earned it.
What are good "older" bands? For posters that is. Im creating a new room design.?
Im thinking of redoing my room. I want posters of older bands, guitar stuff, funky rugs (its going to be music themed) Like for instance I was thinking of A beatles Abbey Road poster and stuff like that. If you have ideas for the posters or any other thing that would be cool that would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I’m a guitar fanatic. ![]()
Older bands..cool…AC/DC, Queen, Led Zepplin (they have really excellent ones), The Who, U2, Styx, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd..these are a few older bands.

This is a good website with tons of the classic bands.
You can get posters and have copies done on white cotton at a copy center, and you can make pillow cases out of these. Unique and inexpensive.
