I’m redoing my room and I want to have to stuff in there from bands I like. I already have 2 Beatles posters, and I’ve seen a cool clock with the Revolver album cover on it, or the yellow submarine.
Where can I find some things for my room from Queen, Journey, or Aerosmith?
If anyone can post links to cool things or a good website, that would be great!! (And I’m sure that person would get best answer
First – My compliments on your choices of classic rock bands although I’d have included James Gang, Led Zepplin, and Pink Floyd, (Oh and King Crimson, also Supertramp). OK, of all the fantastic bands of the late 60s you can’t have them all and you’ve made a good start.
Try these two websites for posters. Beatles stuff is basically all over the place, (but not cheap), and I recently bought 6 framed original album covers starting with Rubber Soul for my wall. Really sharp! Good Luck.

I want to add some things to my room….I love The Beatles and I am already getting some posters…What else should I add? I just want some accessories not anything big like a new comforter or anything…..I cant think of anything….Help! (haha)
Records, memorabilia, posters, etc. Also, at Bed Bath & Beyond they have some 3D posters that you could probably order online. I think they were around $30.
Its an original London Palladium poster from the 1963 tour AND its signed by all of the beatles. I really want to know what the value is but havent found information on how much more it is signed. Heres a picture of an original not signed.

how do i know if the signitures are originals and not reprints?
if the signatures are originals and not reprints it might be worth something
questions on it’s value could include: what kind of shape is it in? how rare is the poster, how many are known to exist? how badly does any given collector want it? …

Preferably all his canon releases. In other words, no compilations, re-issues, greatest hit’s, or live albums (EP’s are OKAY). I’m looking to collect his canon releases (as I’ve already done with The Beatles and The Kinks) and wanted to find his "official" album discography. I looked at Wikipedia and Allmusic.com, but they seem to mix in the re-issues and other randomness. It doesn’t matter if you include his U.S. or U.K. releases, as long as they are canon. So far the only one’s I own are "Essence to Essence", "Cosmic Wheels" and "Beat Cafe", but I’m looking to complete the collection.
Holy Gurdy Batman! You are awesome! Thank you soooo much. And by all means, give your recommendations. My favorite songs by him are "Hurdy Gurdy Man", "There is an Ocean" and "Cosmic Wheels". As I said, i only own a couple albums so I couldn’t really say which is my favorite, but of the ones i own, Cosmic Wheels is my fav.

Apologies if I’ve missed any, I might get back with my reccomendations if I get time.
I think it would be more different john probably would be alive today. What do you think?
I think they still would have broken up. Their break-up became apparent when they all started becoming less of a unit and more so four musicians with creative differences (around the time of "Rubber Soul"). It may have been a year or two later than they did, just because Yoko added fuel to the fire.
As for John being alive, Yoko had nothing to do with that. I don’t see why that would any different.
I was reading Ilie Nastase’s autobiography and it occurred to me when he mentioned teenage girls screaming when he walked around tennis tournaments that you never see teenage males screaming at sportswomen, female singers and actresses who could be perceived as idols.
Historically – especially with bands like The Beatles, The Stones; various male sports stars and actors – why do women react the way they do with impassioned screams etc?
I don’t know the exact reasons for it, but it is definitely pack mentality. Just the same as shouting and cheering.
For instance, imagine you are at a grand slam final between Nadal/Federer BUT it’s a private game with just you as the only spectator. Would you feel quite so determined to shout ‘allez Roger’ if you were sat there on your tod? Actually, you probably would complete with Toblerone hat and cow bell, however, it’s normally a reaction to excitement and stress, letting the opponents/popstars know you care just as much as all the others shouting/screaming.
It’s like laughing at the telly, we laugh very differently and far more animatedly when in company. Humans mirror behaviour all the time..you will do it on the tube without even noticing it.
I guess screaming teenage girls specifically maybe a tension release, a way to vent what are very strong emotions even if it is a mere crush. No different really to what goes on in a football crowd..making up chants, screaming, swearing and generally being fanatical.
It probably all goes back to long gone gender attraction roles ie males now looking for pursuits to dump excess testosterone instead of hunting and women trying to attract the attention of a mate that will ensure her safety.
I’m ashamed to say I remember my Mum and her sisters behaving ridiculous when Nastase was playing, it was all pretty good natured as they were in our living room and he was on the telly. If he had been in the room I’m sure it would have got very nasty never mind screaming
Edit- another point I forgot – teenage girls and their celebrity crushes are a far more an emotional experience than it is for boys. Girls use all this as practice for the relationships they will have in time. Boys however it tends to be more ..er..physical with no emotional attachment. A boy may have endless posters the same as a girl, but the girl will know every single thing about her ‘target’ you only have to see the endless ‘what’s your favourite biscuit’ in teen magazines aimed at girls. Hence, if you are a teenage girl in a crowd and you see what you believe to be the love of your life..someone screams and catches his attention, an "I love him more" competition starts and before you know it they are sobbing and getting generally overwrought.
I have a music blog that I haven’t done much with, it is mainly technical stuff like lists of albums by year and ranking bands etc… What do you think I should do next with it? Here it is (earliest post is at the bottom):
http://alloftheabovemusic.tumblr.com/
One idea I’ve been considering is reviewing bands/albums, starting with either The Beatles discography or maybe going in order chronologically of any bands I feel like reviewing. Or maybe I’ll start with obscure prog bands etc. as that is one of my main interests… or perhaps I’ll focus on more modern releases first. Another idea is doing band bios… I’ll start with 20th Century stuff like Jazz and popular music but I might move on to Classical too.
But anyway, tell me what you think, what ideas do you have as for where I should go with this blog, try to be original and think of ideas I haven’t stated but you can recommend what things to review too.
BQ: Favorite album of this year so far?
Jerry in my ranking D and E level still have some good stuff, overall those genres have way more bad than good tho. And of course the list is subjective, I don’t take it all the seriously, it could use some revision too.
That goes for D and level artists too, although a D artist I would call "decent/pretty good" and an E is "ok/average".
Sexy Tuba maybe I will review porn… at least it’ll get more views… -____-
I’d stick with the obscure prog bands idea. Or maybe like ‘Frick’s Picks’ in Rolling Stone magazine, review a few albums you know are fairly obscure and something to maybe expose new listeners too.
BQ: ‘Plastic Beach’ – Gorillaz
